Cloud API
Terms.

These terms apply to the hosted Cloud API: your account, your Cloud Keys, and the Credits you buy.

1. Definitions

"Cloud API" means the hosted CautionLabs moderation service. It analyzes text you send and returns a true or false result for each of twelve moderation categories.

"Cloud Keys" means the API keys CautionLabs issues to your account to call the Cloud API.

"Credits" means the prepaid units that Cloud API requests use.

"You" means the person or organization that creates the account and uses the Cloud API.

2. Use of the Cloud API

CautionLabs grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Cloud API, with a Cloud Key from your account, to moderate content for your own products and services.

3. Cloud Keys

You are responsible for keeping your Cloud Keys secret and for all use of them. If a key is exposed, delete it from your dashboard and create a new one.

4. Credits and pricing

The Cloud API is paid for with Credits:

  1. each request uses one Credit, and a request is one text of up to 3,000 characters;
  2. a longer text, up to 10,000 characters, is checked in pieces of about 3,000 characters and each piece is one request; a text over 10,000 characters is not accepted;
  3. Credits are sold at 2,500 Credits for each US dollar, with a minimum purchase of $5, and the current prices are shown on the pricing page;
  4. payments are processed by Dodo Payments.

5. Your text and your data

The text you send is processed to produce the result. CautionLabs does not store it, and it is not written to our logs: only its length is recorded.

CautionLabs keeps your account details and your payment and Credit records, which are needed to run your account.

6. Acceptable use

You may not use the Cloud API to interfere with it or overload it, to get around Credits or any other limit, or to share your Cloud Keys with anyone outside your organization.

7. No warranty

The Cloud API is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, and CautionLabs does not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted. It is an automated classifier and will make mistakes, including missing content it should flag and flagging content it should not. You are responsible for how you act on its results.

8. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, CautionLabs is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Cloud API, and its total liability is limited to the amount you paid for Credits.

9. Suspension

CautionLabs may suspend or delete a Cloud Key, or an account, that breaches these terms. You can stop using the Cloud API at any time by deleting your Cloud Keys.
